baby gift

I love to give board books as baby shower gifts. My problem is that I have a limited knowledge of children's books that dates back to my days as a nanny 4-8 years ago. These were some of my favorites back then, any suggestions on books to add to the gift list?

Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown

Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? By Eric Carle

Barnyard Dance by Sandra Boynton

Jamberry by Bruce Degen

Good Night Gorilla by Peggy Rathmann

  1. A lot of old classics now come in board book form- we have Curious George and Mike Mulligan and the Steam Shovel, for example. As for newer books, I really love all of the Eric Carle books (A Very Hungry Caterpillar is great), Rainbow Fish, and the Gossie/Gertie/Peedie gosling books.

  2. These are classics -- and always appropriate.
For some fun newer books check out the titles by Michelle Sinclair Colman.
'Urban Babies Wear Black' and lots of others!
    Cute!

  3. "Love You Forever" and "The Giving Tree" some to mind. Both very sweet and touching, classics. Also anything Dr. Seuss for more light hearted fare
