high accolades

Book club was a success! We reviewed the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society and there were masses of books recommended for next year. The Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet was one book that was very highly recommended. I am intrigued.

first day of school

Do you remember the anticipation of the first day of school? I used to wake up hours too early because I was so excited. I out did myself this year. I went to class this morning only to find out that school doesn't start until tomorrow. I had to laugh at myself. I will try again Thursday!

something old turned to something new

My friend had a white bracelet that was far too big for her wrist so we recrafted it into this necklace. I love how it turned out.

book group food

I have run dry today. I am hosting Book Group at my house on Tuesday and need to come up with some appetizers to serve. Any ideas or suggestions?

what happened to september?

The stores are already decked out in Halloween and Christmas decor. Names are being drawn for Christmas gifts, plans are being made for Christmas workshops. What happened to September?

P.S. This is what I want to do for the Christmas workshop and if not for that just for me.
P.P.S. It is far too easy to get caught up in this. I still need to do my berry picking and enjoy pumpkin dough nuts and cider this fall. Must enjoy September.

Don't you just wish you could take a ride down the canals of Venice today? I do.

ornate frame watching to commence

This weekend a friend of mine suggested buying molding and creating a frame on my wall where I could put my growing collection of mini paintings ( I recently acquired two more- here and here). I have been mulling the idea over in my head and when I saw this post on a brooklyn limestone in progress (a brilliant blog) I knew what I needed to do. Find an ornate frame. Rachel, I am ready for the Salvation Army. Bring it on.

just read...

I finished the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society this weekend and it was so good. I loved it. If you are looking for a good book to read, here you go.
