bathroom floors

This weekend I was discussing bathroom styles with my brother-in-law who is starting to plan for a bathroom overhaul this summer. It got me to thinking about what I would do if I were to choose. One of my favorite bathroom renovations is on Brooklyn Limestone, they did such a wonderful job. I like light colors in a bathroom. The question is how and which colors do mix to avoid too much monotony, or is an all white bathroom (at least as far as tile on the floor, cabinets and sinks go) the way to go?

I like natural colors on the floor, I think that this is one of the best places to add a little variation. Whether is be stones like this or more of a gray or a very, very light tan color.

That being said, this floor is awesome.

I love the very small tiles in bathrooms.

Again with the small tiles and they grayish hue.

This tile looks to be more of a tan color. I like tan colored tile but only if it is really, really light. A lot of the darker tan tile makes a room look a little dated in my mind.

Once more grays and small tiles. This room seems to be a little more monotonous as far as color goes, but it doesn't really bother me that much. I think it is the white accents that make the difference.

  1. I like the idea of small tiles in a bathroom, or really anywhere for that matter, but the thought of cleaning them brings me pretty close to a panic attack...oh wait, that is how I feel when I think about cleaning any surface in a bathroom...never mind.
